Fresh Ideas

If you're like me, the stress of moving into a new home can be overwhelming at times. So here's an idea to make decorating more simple, collect varying types of frames from Michael's, Potterybarn, TJ Maxx, Antique stores, or your basement. Big black frames mixed with rustic wood, whites, golds and silvers. Then pick out a few of your most beloved editorials and print them out at your local Walgreens, CVS, etc so that they are glossy and nice (and the right size). Add them to your frames and voila! A chic way to decorate while adding a touch of your personal style. Group them together or scatter them around the room, whatever suits you!

Glitter and Gold

Currently in search of the perfect combination of rings idolizing this set... its just too perfect. My search continues

DIY: white tee with a twist

A while back I found this photo and immediately fell in love with this idea. While we all have our favorite go-to white t-shirt, this is a good way to spice it up (without sacrificing the look of the front). So if you're not willing to cut up your favorite tee, and I don't blame you, run to the store or your closest urban outfitters for my favorite truely madly deeply v-neck and get to snipping. Personally I'm going to use a smaller tee and a tiny bit smaller skull, throw it on over a bralette (or not for a casual night out) and you're good to go.

Wrapper

My latest obsession stemming from my trip to cali is hair wraps. So I took it back to middle school and got one complete with tribal colors, wooden beads, and a peace sign charm at the end. Now I am sad to say that my hair wrap is no more, after 3 weeks it fell apart and I am desperately missing it. I'm not sure how to get my hands on another one (wasn't there a machine popular in the early 2000's that did it for you?) but I will make it happen. I'll keep you posted. xoxo

College Chic

A cocktail table is definitely going to be a staple in my living room. Because every college house should stay stocked 24/7 right?

I can't get enough of this living room, not only because its elements are completely obtainable for my budget but I love the bohemian/morracan/vintage american theme going on. If I take away one piece from this room it will be finding a vintage flag to hang up as a tapestry on one of the walls in the living room

Sticking with the bohemian theme, i love the contrast of the eclectic statement pieces with the white lucite inspired clean lines.

Dying over this idea, an old wooden ladder (oh right because that's so easy to find...not) draped with your best and most worn scarves. Its a great decoration and would definitely solve my problem with the wrinkles in my scarves from being shoved in my closet.

And finally, fresh flowers (hydragenias of course) and candles in varying candlestick holders. Again, I love the lucite organizer holding the flower and the varying colors on a neutral backdrop. I'm crossing my fingers that all of these ideas can come together for me in a way that doesn't look like a mishmosh of ideas.....here's hoping

Summer Nights

Summer is only a few more weeks long, so now is the time to take full advantage of those final days of late sunsets, road trips, sun and salt streaked hair, and carefree living before the stress of the school year starts up again. With a little inspriation from Daria Werbowy, make the upcoming weeks count before the countdown to next summer begins. So wear those cut offs into the ground and pick out your best cropped and flowy tops - and let's end this summer with a bang.

Making the Comeback

I'm back! After taking a 6 month reprieve i've decided to give this another go. The summer is almost on its way out and while I'm not excited to see it go, I am looking forward to this upcoming fall. However I have enjoyed some pretty great summer days thus far and I know there are still a few more awesome ones to come. Recently on a trip to visit my amazing friend in LA I became inspired. We spent most of our time in Venice Beach and I immediately fell in love with its laid back grungy skater chic hippie vibe. I can just imagine a life of beach days and nights learning to skateboard and surf, but a girls gotta work. So im translating my california dreaming into my wardrobe, mindset, and upcoming apartment decorating (pictures to come). Above is my inspiration I'm still trying to make work while working in an office 9 hours a day 5 days a week. I have a feeling my creativity is going to be sparked once I get back to charleston and out of my routine days in the 716. So I hope these pictures give you some inspiration too and just know there are only more good things to come. xox
